Our Corporate Finance team have advised on the sale of leading UK chemical supplier, Aquatreat Group Ltd, to Marlowe PLC, a provider of specialist regulatory and compliance services, for an undisclosed sum.
Representing the latest in a series of recent acquisitions by Marlowe PLC, the deal will help the business to further secure its position in the niche water treatment and hygiene marketplace. The organisation also delivers services across a number of other sectors with a high regulatory focus, including health and safety, fire safety, air testing and quality and environmental services.
About Aquatreat
Incorporated 46 years ago, Surrey-based Aquatreat is a leading UK supplier of speciality chemicals to the water treatment and associated industries. The manufacturer works closely with a number of strategic supply partners to provide specialist brand name chemicals at the forefront of the latest technological developments.
Led by our corporate finance director, Kevin Paget, we advised Aquatreat’s shareholders on all aspects of the sale, including the deal structure, due diligence, commercial aspects of the legal agreement and post-acquisition matters. Faye Bargery and Andrew Tinker of Irwin Mitchell Solicitors acted as legal advisors to the Shareholders of Aquatreat.
Barbara Clearey, managing director and majority shareholder at Aquatreat Group Ltd, said:
“Over the last 46 years, we have worked hard to grow Aquatreat into the market-leading chemical supplier it is today, and we are confident that Marlowe is the right buyer to build on this success. My sincerest thanks to Kevin who supported me through all the technical and emotional aspects of the transaction with professionalism and humour and I would certainly recommend Kevin and the Menzies team to any other business owner seeking to sell their business.”
Kevin Paget, Corporate Finance Director at Menzies, commented:
“Aquatreat Group Ltd is a great fit with Marlowe’s acquisition strategy and enhances its reputation as a UK leader in providing specialist services that assure the safety and regulatory compliance of commercial properties, whilst helping them to improve their risk profiles.”
